Tanar returns out of breath and anxious to tell all that he both saw and heard. This stirs up a lot of concern in the party.
As you deliberate your actions you notice that within an hour the sun will set.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Dante moves the wagon to what he considers a suitable place to hide it from open view. It is not difficult to do this especially because it is already colored black and the forest's cover hides it well.
Meanwhile...
Unafraid of the 'sacred' rest of the dead Tanar strips Neihao's body of his belongings and adorns himself with it.
GM: Add these to your character's inventory permanently adjusting your AC, etc.
After the others tie their horses and you all feel that no one will steal them you begin following Tanar to the hut he found.
GM: Everyone should roll D100 now. Anyone getting above 60 is NOT favorable.
You make your way to the clearing.
As you get closer Tanar indicates the need to be as stealthy as possible to avoid detection. Acknowledging this you take each step carefully between the overgrowth and trees.
The clearing is in sight when someone mashes a twig snapping it in two with a loud "Crick" and instantaneously a flock of wild birds emerge behind a thicket flying to the trees above in a frenzy. You are taken aback by this.
Meanwhile...
The 'black' warriors outside drop their dice and immediately rise unsheathing their weapons.
"What be that", says one loudly.
"It was over there...", says the other while pointing in the direction of your mishap.
GM: Decide your next move as well as everyone should send in their combat rolls.
Since your cover has been unraveled you decide to make an all out attack on the drunken dark men. Those of you with a bow shoot arrows while trying to make your way out of the bushes and the others attempt to engage in hand-to-hand combat. This is what happens:
Tanar fires an arrow off at the dark man on the left and it hits him with a blow that throws him back. He groans and then yells for help towards the hut.
Lady Godiva shoots two arrows but they do not reach their target.
The dark man on the right moves forward towards your location meeting Dante and John in the process.
John and the dark man clash against each other but they both parry and nothing becomes of it.
On Dante's arrival one of his swings miss and the other makes contact but not with any great force.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Tanar shoots another arrow hoping that his luck plays out to be twice as fortunate, but he is sorely disappointed as the arrow lands in the grass off target.
Just then...
Lady Godiva jumps over a hedge and heads towards the man on the ground and finishes him off before he can even get his bearings. The man's last groan seems to make the horses of the wagon a bit uneasy as they attempt to move forward but the wagon's brakes are making it difficult.
At that same time...
John has his way with the next standing dark warrior ahead of him slashing deep into him but not killing him. The dark man struggles backwards in his drunken state while holding his leather gloves on to his wounds.
Meanwhile...
Dante quickly makes his way to the hut. He peers in the open door and sees a very humble abode with items of furniture and dishes strewn about. He cannot hear or see anything else unless he fully enters.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Many simultaneous events are happening, I've tried to order it based on a logical time line.
Lady Godiva attempts to calm the horses and they begin to hesitantly relax.
At that same time...
John seeing his vantage over the enemy says,
"Drop your weapon or you will be finished!"
In answer to this the dark man grumbles as he slowly rises to his feet in a wobbly way.
"Who are you?"
The dark man asks in a slurred manner. Before you can think about the answer to his question he pulls a dagger from behind his cloak and in the same motions attempts to slash John. However this action is in vain as John deals him a final blow to the head almost splitting it open.
Just then...
The dark man falls to the ground as Lady Godiva comes around to check inside the black reinforced war wagon. She opens the door and is immediately taken aback by the number of chests she sees. They look just like the one you acquired before.
After this...
Tanar wishes to peer into a window but it is on the other side of the door so he waits behind Dante. Dante enters the open door and into the hut... To one end of the humble abode he sees a large darkly clad piercing man looking at him. In one hand he caries a bloodied mace and in the other his hand curls around the neck and mouth of what looks like an elderly peasant woman ravished with blood stains about her.
Strangely, you begin to feel somehow weaker in the beings presence as though energy is leaving your body. As Tanar enters he gets the same feeling.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Without a further breath to consider your options Tanar lunges towards the darkly clan man. The move surprises him and he immediately relaxes his grip on the peasant woman who falls like a sack of flour to the ground. Dante, moves in and the rest enter to feel that same draining effect.
GM: I will need fresh combat roles from everyone keeping in mind you are choosing to fight in a small hut so long handle weapons will be a hindrance to you. For each round of battle you will lose 1hp as you remain in the room, this is in addition to any hit you may take.
Tanar rushes in with what should be a well placed hit but the hasty action leads to a miss and an immediate bold repel by the darkly clad man who in the swift counter movement not only raises his mace quickly but strikes Tanar with such a deadly blow to his chin that it jerks him into the air backwards taking fatal damage. Tanar falls to the ground with his eyes wide open and his jaw smashed to one side.
GM: Tanar takes -7HP damage and is now dead. Bruconero is out of the game.
Dante comes immediately after lashing out at the darkly clad man whose vestments and demonic symbols of priestly attire can now be seen thus revealing his true nature. Dante's best efforts bring no blood and the Dark Cleric is likewise just fending off his attack.
Right behind Dante is John whose first swing misses but the second deals the Dark Cleric a significant blow that causes him to be pushed against a wall. The Cleric has no luck in repelling and John remains unharmed from his bloodied mace.
Lady Godiva attempts to get in on the action but there isn't room, but she does notice that the peasant woman on the floor is moving.
GM: Everyone remaining take -1HP of damage from the continuous draining feeling. Say what you wish to do now.
