The Dark Cleric - Medieval RPG - Page 26

The Game Master says...

Lady Godiva starts dragging the peasant woman away from the fighting to outside into the fresh air. She is barely alive.

Meanwhile...

Dante keeps attacking and the Dark Cleric likewise also fights on but neither side has the edge, however Dante grows weaker.

GM: Dante goes down -1HP. (I have him at 6HP)

John also fights on but finds himself unable to have success in wounding the Dark Cleric but he does parry effectively so he is not hurt in the process save for the continued drain.

GM: John goes down -1HP. (I have him at 3HP)

By now Lady Godiva does not feel the draining feeling anymore as she tends to the peasant.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

RPG Medieval Cleric Dark The

The Game Master says...

Lady Godiva examines the woman and finds her body covered with etched demonic symbols probably made with a carving knife. You estimate that her current state is most likely from blood loss, so you tend to her as best you can but she is only somewhat responsive.

In the hut...

John fights but is not successful in penetrating neither the armor nor skill of the Dark Cleric. In addition to this John starts to feel tired.

The Dark Cleric hits John backwards but he does not take damage from his mace however the draining effect continues.

GM: John is now at 2HP.

Dante notices that the Dark Cleric fights in a manner to bring him closer to the hut's entrance, possibly for an escape. Each of you hit metal against metal but the Dark Cleric does not seem the least drained from the fighting, in fact he seems more vigorous and managing to push against you more intensely.

GM: Dante is at 5HP. Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Dante fights on and manages to hit the Dark Cleric a blow that should stun him, but it doesn't.

GM: Dante is at 4HP

John is very weak now and tires from all his armor.

GM: John is at 1HP and has 21AC.

Lady Godiva meets the Dark Cleric at the door, his back turned toward her, an opportune time, as she strikes and hits him a deadly blow that causes him to stumble briefly but not drop. Lady Godiva also feels the drain again.

GM: Lady Godiva is at 4HP.

The Dark Cleric starts to make some ghastly sounds that you do not understand. They sound as though they come from an ancient tongue.

GM: If you wish to keep fighting I need fresh combat rolls.

The Game Master says...

The stifling feeling causes John to stop fighting the Dark Cleric and instead look for an escape. The entrance to the hut is blocked by the battle so John attempts to climb through the window... It is small and his armor too much to pass through, he attempts to drop his items but in doing so he also drops to the ground now drained from whatever is causing this unusual siphon of energy from his veins.

GM: John is on 0HP and unconscious. No actions from him.

Dante fights on feeling weaker. Each of you hit the armor of the other without much success.

GM: Dante is now at 3HP and his AC18

Lady Godiva, seeking to block the escape of the Cleric joins in battle. Her immediate swing does nothing but her second does hit causing only light damage to an ever powerful Dark Cleric. He hits back knocking Lady Godiva backwards.

GM: Lady Godiva is now on 0HP and unconscious. No actions from her.

Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Dante, seeing his unfortunate circumstances decides to relinquish the battle, however the Dark Cleric is not naive of his upper hand in the whole affair.

GM: Roll a D20 against your Soul, let's see if fortune is on your side. A number under your Soul is favorable.

The Dark Cleric - Medieval RPG

The Game Master says...

Fate is on your side... Despite the Dark Cleric being more than able to crush you where you stand he instead quickly takes his leave after first giving you a short menacing stare. You feel overwhelmed and fall to your buttocks. You temporarily blackout possibly due to the constant draining of your life's energy.

GM: All is dark....

After some time, possibly an hour, maybe less, you each awake in the hut.

GM: Everyone rejoins actions.

You are on the floor lying in the same spot you fell. A very distraught looking older woman hovers over you, it is the peasant you rescued. She tries to tend to your wounds with herbs and other ointments. Dante later joins in to help her.

As time progresses you learn from the peasant that the Dark Cleric has left with the black war wagon parked outside the hut. He also took the men that you slew beside it.

The peasant begs you to not stay any longer and claims not to want trouble.

GM: Those of you on "0" HP are now on 1 HP. Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Dante attempts to question the peasant but she is not interested in answering you. She complains about your presence in a lamenting way saying it only reminds her of the torture she went through. You find it odd that even though you rescued her she seeks to banish you from her hut.

At the same time... You remember your horses and wagon, this makes you become nervous about them being taken. All of you rush out of the hut and head towards the place where you left them. To your relief they are still there as you concealed them.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Lady Godiva and John, having now remembered the body of Tanar, rides back to the hut to get him. They look for an opening in the woods to the hut but find that they must make a loop. In doing so they see the fresh tracks of the Dark Cleric's wagon heading deeper South into vastly unknown territory.

At the hut you find the body of Tanar already outside by the doorway to the hut, possibly the peasant woman had only enough strength to get it that far. She does not acknowledge your presence as you load Tanar's corpse on to your horse. You head back and now regroup with Dante.

Satisfied there is nothing more in this area for you at the moment you all return to the Village somewhat suffering from defeatism. The trip takes you the rest of the day and into the early morning. You arrive at the Village exhausted, and bleeding.

GM: Injured Characters will need to seek the doctor's help in becoming renewed. If you lack gold consider that you have a war wagon and five horses with you.

Each Player will move up one level. You are now entitled to:

- Roll D6 and that plus / minus your Body bonus to your HP
- Add one point to either Body, Mind, Soul not passed 18
- Any secondary skills is at +10%

As you become healed of your wounds word of your ventures circles the Village. The Elders have need to meet with you, however you wish to make a stop at the Tavern. Here you will meet withe other curious fellows.

GM: New Players will join in your Party. Everyone should settle in and then when you are ready Post Party Order again.
