The Dark Cleric - Medieval RPG - Page 32

The Game Master says...

The night before into the morning...

Despite the wenches best effort she does not persuade Grouth to move any further than where he now sits. The night passes uneventfully and the next day Grouth visits the Elders. They are surprised by all the happenings and merely say they will,

"Take care of it..."

You do not know what that means but your interest in the peasant rouge dissipates as you focus on meeting with the newly found adventurers for their quest against the Dark Cleric.

At the Tavern...

All save for Aose and Cagliostro meet at a large wooden table at the Tavern. The wench gives Grouth a coy look, perhaps because she felt her services were not good enough for his coin. Another wench comes and asks for your order. You are rather hungry and the smell of ale leaves you with dry lips. While you decide Dante proposes a vote about Aose.

Cagliostro wonders off...

Cagliostro, forgetting his place as hopeful wizard, mounts the horse that once pulled the Dark Cleric's wagon. He feels like a warrior with a mission but has nothing to show for it save for the wounds he is not allowing to heal properly. The horse is thunderous in its movements and makes you look very small compared to her size.

Cagliostro arrives at the place described as where Aose had his battle. At the river he can see what looks like four peasants searching and looking around the area. They do not appear to be the same ones from the day before but they look equally villainous. Some of them are laughing and holding up some of their findings which happens to be the items of Aose, but their laughing stops as they spot both you and your horse. Their faces immediately become cross. Looking at each other for silent communication they make signals which you believe means they are coming after you.

The Game Master says...

Cagliostro knows when he has been outnumbered. He turns is horse about and makes his way back to the Village Tavern.

At the Village Tavern...

People go in and out of the Tavern during the morning period. None stay very long only looking for a good hot meal for the day. Once they have finished they move quickly to the day's tasks.

Some of you order ale and food while Grouth explains his visit with the Elders.

GM: Ensure that you each subtract 1GP for your rich meal.

Later...

Cagliostro rejoins you just after you took up time by talking loosely and finishing up your meal.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

As you deliberate your next move the Tavern owner comes over,

"Good-day folks, we're collecting for credit owed, ye know... Those mugs of ale ye drank in the past that ye could not muster coin up to pay fer? Well, now is about a good time to pay up eh?"

GM: Each Player needs to give 1 GP which should cover old tabs for past bad drinking habits. Its been 2 days now, say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Three of you venture to the Council of the Village Elders in order to inform them of the events thus far. They listen eagerly to find out about some progress in dispelling the infamous tales of the Dark Cleric. Their faces are notably displeased by your latest results.

"Ye be like children running in the woods with no objective. Are ye capable of accomplishing this task or is it that we must find another?"

Their question grips Lady Godiva and Dante especially whereas Cagliostro deems it the time to instead make requests. His first request concerns keeping the wagon once used by the Dark Cleric.

They look at each other in a bewildered manner that you are not in the know.

"The wagon thou speakest of is now the burnt scraps and smoke of the Villagers. Ye were mad with sickness to have left this cursed thing in the forest of this honorable Village. Ye think such darkness will just sit there and no one will know of it? When one of the Village hunters saw it he immediately informed others who took care of the dastardly thing."

Upon hearing this Cagliostro realizes he has no other requests.

The Elders then talk amongst themselves seeing that you are at a lost of what to do. One says,

"We have received word that the Dark Cleric might be trying to form an alliance with the giant creatures of the deep South... Perhaps thy attention should be placed there."

However, his words sound unsure as he adds,

"Thou hast leads or are ye merely guessing? What of the man ye say Horde referred ye to?"

The Elders then mention their busy day ahead as you can tell your presence has not made them hospitable towards you.

Meanwhile...

More ale is the pleasure of Grouth and John at the moment as Aose rests after surgery.

GM: Say what you wish to do now. Do not forget to -1 GP from your inventory for Grouth and John: -2 GPs. No need for actions from Aose unless he is specifically leaving the doctors.

The Game Master says...

After assuring the Elders that you expect to get the Dark Cleric within your grasp they bid you a quick leave. You then return to the Tavern where you are all once again gathered trying to come to a positive plan of action to arrest the Dark Cleric despite being clueless as to his current location.

The Dark Cleric - Medieval RPG

The Game Master says...

Grouth ponders whether he should go to East City, he feels like he wants to.

Dante heads to the market. He figures some raggedy clothes and a black cloak may do the trick of disguising himself to look like the natives of East City's slums save that the East City residents are not known to carry the amount Dante has on his person. The items cost 2 GP if he wants to oblige though he thinks it is a pity that the vestments of Dark Cleric's henchmen were not saved for this very purpose.

Dante meets back with Grouth and then plans a path to East City.

GM: Grouth's 'action' is more of a desire and not a specific action. Dante will need to say if he made the purchase.

The others retire to their homes.

GM: Keep in mind that specifics are for your character's survival: how will you disguise yourself, how will you travel to East City, and at what time of day or night?

Aose does not need to be 'played' he is at the doctor's home since you are still in game time, not even a day of game time has passed yet.

The Game Master says...

During the night you sleep in the comfort of your home. By morning time you are about your everyday activities save for Grouth who is already heading towards East City on foot.

It is a clear sunny day but it is also a very long walk and will take him most of the day and some of tomorrow to get there. During his trek Grouth sees many passers by but none of them stop for him, however they do salute. By sunset you are tired. While pondering your ability to continue you notice ahead a curious group of lads pulling a handcart. They are coming from the North East towards the South they have not spotted you yet at least you think they have not.

GM: Say what you wish to do now. Ensure that you subtract one full water skin and one ration.

The Game Master says...

Plagued by a dull drum of repetitive events the unsuspecting adventurers feel particularly nervous today, as though something bad is going to happen because the dark forces are allowed to grow stronger.

GM: I need a Soul roll from everyone except Sgtlee of course.
