The stout man is not visibly pleased by Rasputin's answer.
"Ye guess so?"
He looks back at the rest of the soldiers under his command and while pointing at Rasputin says,
"This one does is not sure from where he cometh."
This causes laughter among the soldiers. Then turning back to meet Rasputin's eyes he says to him in a stern tone,
"Step down quickly lad, let's be seeing what yer pockets might have..."
At that same time you can hear a heavy horse's stomps on the ground approaching from the North - its Grouth, who is now puzzled by the current gathering.
GM: Grouth is now part of the Party. Say what you wish to do now.
The stout man leans over his war horse's saddle to carefully observe Rasputin's movements and words as he explains himself and his belongings. After Rasptin's final words the stout man raises his hand, and says rather condescendingly,
"Alright, enough! Just make sure to keep out of trouble."
The stout man makes a go forward signal to his soldiers and they pass on quickly heading East and then disappearing into the forest that leads towards the North.
The South is now clearly in front of you. You start your journey.
GM: I need some details: Party travel order, the speed at which you are going and the exact direction.
Lady Godiva leads while Dante guards the rear.
In more or less a line formation, the rest of you ride somewhere in the middle towards Death's Mouth at a moderate speed.
As time passes, the green of the Village dissipates and is replaced by the rocky dry terrain of the South.
As you get closer to Death's Mouth the light of the day is almost at its end. Lady Godiva is the first to notice lights once again emanating from the very top of the entrance to the valley. This is hardly a surprise given the amount of time the place has been 'cleansed'. You unsure if your presence is known given the very open approach to the area at a fairly fast pace.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
GM: I need roll against Soul for Felipe's character.
You decide to investigate the mountain lights starting at the foot of the jagged mountain. You ask Lodewic to search the immediate area with the intention that he might reveal a good path to the light. It takes about 30 minutes and Lodewic returns with this report,
"There be hidden trails that lead up steep parts of the mountain to what might be a camp on each side. Ye can go up but it may be dangerous if thou art not dexterous."
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Rasputin lays some traps and Grouth watches the horses as John, Dante and Lady Godiva follow Lodewic to the spot where you can begin your ascent. Lodewic guides you and says,
"Ye start here..."
He points to what is a hidden trail behind a rather large rock only accessible by climbing it. You are beginning to see that your visit to the fishing village was not in vain as this man's skills come through for you.
You begin your climb and it is rather tiring especially for those of you that carry all your items, in addition to this you are doing it by the light of one the of the moons which in itself increases your risk of injury. You come to a point where you will need to make a very careful vertical climb.
"Stop here, watch how I do it and then follow." Says Lodewick who easily scales the face of the 20' cliff. At the top, he waves his hand in a bid to get you to come up.
GM: I need Body rolls from all those venturing with Lodewic. Say what you wish to do now.
Lady Godiva easily reaches the top still carrying all her equipment.
Dante and John fall on to the unusual jagged surface despite their best efforts (-1HP). John's fall makes a lot of noise given all the metal about him. Having learned your lesson you decide to try rope this time.
GM: If you want to try again - roll employing -5 to D20.
Meanwhile...
Those below hear the sound of a metal bang from up above.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Dante and John's more effective approach to the cliff has given them success. From here you continue your assent of the rocky mountain trail. After what seems like an eternity you make significant progress in climbing, but you are now sweaty. Eventually, you get to a point where you can see the light of a small camp fire flickering against the face of one part of the mountain. Lodewic says in whisper,
"I cannot say what might be there. The noise of the fall may have alerted them to our presence. Shall we continue?"
Meanwhile...
Rasputin and Grouth, at the bottom of the mountain, begin to notice how long the others are taking and start to converse about what might have happened.
GM: Say what you wish to do now.
Lodewic agrees to check out the campfire further ahead and immediately leaves without any fanfare, however before anyone can say anything John follows after him with a high likelihood of making a metallic racket.
GM: I need a D20 roll against Body for John against a Stealth move with a +5 factor for all the metal he carries.
Meanwhile...
As the dark of the night settles in you can hear the familiar sounds of wolves, but the howls seem far distant and it is only a light breeze that allows you to hear it in a rare moment. The war horses seem a bit uneasy but nothing that can't be controlled as you pat their mane and talk to them calmly.
GM: Say what you wish to do now. At some point, when I get a chance, I will introduce auto rolls on the Actions page that will give me D20s without having to wait for it.
