The Dark Cleric - Medieval RPG - Page 12

The Game Master says...

As you race outside your room you can see no one in the hallway, surely someone else must have heard that scream you think. Your first instinct is the door in front of you. You bust it open and see a shocking sight... On the floor is Lancelot, blood is everywhere from a dagger buried deep into his neck going down into his chest. He clutches at it with his hands but it looks like it is too late.

GM: Play by post / Lancelot is no longer in this game.

Standing near the window is a woman of amazing beauty with her back against an open window and her hands against the sill of the window frame. A chime of sorts blows softly as the wind shakes it. She has a grin on her face and her eyes pierce you as she makes no move to explain anything.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Jonathon asks the sultry woman for an explanation of what is before him while Lady Godiva lifts her bow and shoots an arrow at her head.

GM: Need a D20 roll for Lady Godiva.

By this time Carric has made an appearance.

GM: Again, I do not need all the drama and expressions just your specifi ACTIONS. Please say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Lady Godiva's arrow shoots through the air and hits the woman squarely in the chest. With an open eyed expression of surprise the now injured woman can barely cry out from her pain as she is knocked from her position and falls through the window. You hear the sound of her body hitting the hard ground below. Once again the eerie sound of the chimes dangle in the face of the open window as you look at Lancelot's body on the floor of the bloodied room.

The Game Master says...

Lady Godiva looks down to where the body fell. It is dark and she can hardly see it as this window looks over the back of the Inn. She then looks at the chimes... By just looking it is nothing interesting visually just a crude mesh of pieces of animal bone with metal tied together with strips of aged leather.

Neihao opens the window of his room and sees the main thoroughfare in front of the inn. People are moving back and forth as they do in East City even while darkness covers them.

GM; Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Neihao goes down the hallway... As he passes he can see the wench Jonathon was conversing with earlier peering at him through a half open door. She then closes it quickly and attempts to go downstairs ahead of Neihao.

Meanwhile...

The rest of you make an attempt to move the body of Lancelot but notice the current events in the hallway.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Neihao decides to use the wench as a passer of false information when he shouts to the group to leave through the window. The wench does not look back at what Neihao says but her steps seem much faster than before as she disappears down the stairs.

All of you decide to leave Lancelot where he is at present and move to the trap door via the kitchen. At the kitchen you are happy to find that no one is in there. You make your way down the trap door closing it behind you.

You are now in the room described to Neihao on his first visit.

The Game Master says...

GM: On the map I attached in the last Post it does not show "North", so please see the text "The Dark Cleric Scenario" as North.

You listen to the door (North West) and hear nothing.

Listening to the door (West) and hear some kind of washing sound... Liquid being poured, stirred, etc.

The door (South East) that has steps going up to it may lead to what you believe to be the tavern of the Inn. Possibly it is the door you saw the two men 'guarding' when you first entered the Inn. It is intensely loud with laughter and voices full of strong drink.

The ladder leading up to the trap door shows no signs of being opened by anyone, yet.

The rest of the room is as was described when Neihao first visited.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

You search for traps and find nothing.

GM: Normally if you want to search for traps then each person searching should roll a D100 so I can tell you the result at the same time, however this time there are no traps.

You decide to open the door and find that it reveals a short dark corridor about 15 feet in length that leads to a dismal room ahead.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.
