Salt Lake City police officers first received a call at 10:45 a.m. About a suicidal male in a truck, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Snyder. Sometime within the next hour, officers received a report of a hit-and-run around 11:40 a.m. At 4100 S. 2200 West in Taylorsville involving the same vehicle. Ref. Source 5

It is always sad to see a pursuit end in the shooting death of the suspect. SOunds to me that the officer had no choice here. I feel sorry for the family.
