Did God Create A World Before Adam?

I was on another disscousion board about religion and one of the posts caught my attention. The post talked about a Pre-Adamite World, where there was a social system before God created Adam.
That there was a great catastrophe that came upon the earth (the pre-Adamite world) Gen:1-2 shows that the earth went through a period of convulsions, spasms, eruptions, earthquakes, and a great cataclysm that destroyed all animal and vegetable life on Earth.
Thus said, there are many questions about Scripture that are unanswerable unless we accept the fact that Lucifer ruled the Earth and rebelled before Adam, thus causing the original social order to be destroyed and the earth to be flooded, then totally wasted. The Earth was later restored to a habitable state.. because God intended for it to be inhabited. He was not discouraged by the first rebellion and did not blot out the Earth, but restored it and replenished it with a purpose.. that the Earth should be inhabited with free moral agents to whom He could reveal Himself.
I find religion really interesting and thought this might be a fairly new concept.
Has anyone else heard of this theory? Or now anything more about it?

This is an interesting theory. I haven't ever heard it before though. I do think, the earth was formed with materials that already were in existance. I don't know if I accept the rest of the theory or not though. I do believe there are or were (could be both) other worlds before this one though, so I am not sure if the materials used to create this earth could have come from an old world that was no longer being used.

Interesting food for thought anyway.

Comments: Yes there was a pre-Adamic race before Adam, there are many scriptures that relate to it. Everything God did was perfect (Duet 32:4), so when we get to Gen 1:2 it is a good idea to get the real meaning of the words used, such as the word (was)meaning Becomes in Hebrew, and by the time you read verse 3 you will notice 4 facts the earth was (formless,empty,dark,flooded) so after gen 1:1 all went wrong. You will notice also in gen1:3 the word let was used, this word is a word of permission not creation. So God was giving permission for the light to shine , which means it already existed etc... But then ine must ask "what light? the sun, moon, stars etc, were not existent at this time!" interesting!

Comments: The secret of the accounts in Genesis is tied to their meaning as to WHY? The Bible is broken down into seven battles which end with the Great White Throne of God (which can be translated as Throne of Light). The first Battle was fought before the world as we know it existed and ended with the term "Chaos" which is EXACTLY what a battle field looks like at the end of a conflict. That answer the question of what happen when Satan rebelled and it ended with a war. The second Battle was Noah and the Flood which Satan again lost. The third Battle was on Mt. Sinai ending in a total defeat of Satan again with the formation of Israel and forth battle is the Cross where Satan was defeated again. This makes the Garden of Eden a "Beach Head" in enemy territory which it was but the restriction was Satan could only deceive not destroy. He succeed in this but it was in the plan of God as Jesus had been chosen before the worlds were to be the Messiah which he did and the re population of the world as the command given to Adam in Genesis could be done. There is a lot more but all this is related to the struggle between good and evil and will end in the future at the end of all after the Millennium. Battle number five occurs at the one call Armageddon and number six is Gog and Magog. All that is recorded in the bible but chapter one in Genesis does not make sense unless it all existed before we came into the battle.The Hebrew language supports this view of recreation--look it up yourself. Adam World Create God Did

I am not sure about the earth being here for a long duration before Adam but it was formed prior his creation. Other wise how did the plant and stuff be in place to support life here. As for the great battle between God and Luficer I understood always that it happened long before Adam was created.

I also though 1/3 of the angles (fallen) and luficfer was caste to earth to live banned from the heavens. I personally think we are here to help safe them.

Comments: You can not explain the phrase "Demons" without admitting that there were some live forms on this planet before Adam and Eve. These were those that make up this world in the first battle fought between Good and Evil. The end of that battle was "Chaos". The two we are concerned with are number four (The Cross) and Armageddon which is number five. There are two yet to come but they are 1,000 years at lest into the future of our time.

Actually demons also cam from the spirits of the giants that were born when the angles and humans mated in Genesis so that is part of it. The fallen angles were in heaven so I might be stupid but to me that is where the first battle occurred. Also we know the earth was here before Adam as it was created before him. The only question is how long before and it creation compared to when the first battle occurred.

As to me yes I can explain demons without the need of fallen angles or them being being here prior Adam since some demons if not all were created after him. I think it is more important to recognize them and know how to deal with them then it is to worry about where they came from or how long they have been here.

Why is it necessary to think that Angels, Demons, Devils, spirits and Humans are not all the same species.

There is nothing in the Bible that implicitly states that these are all different species. If Demons and Devils Are Fallen angels and Fallen Angels are just Human Spirits then Adam could have been part of the group of Humans, demons, angels, that existed before people were placed on this Earth.

I hold that Humans, spirits, angels, devils and demons are all the same species, but at different levels of advancement with devils and Demons being at the forever lowest spectrum of development while angels and humans are near the top with limitless ability for growth.

I really think the idea that they are different species only arrives from human tradition and does not reflect reality, but even if I am wrong it is an interesting thought.

This is partially where I get my idea that angels and humans are similar species but on a different level.
