Arsenal-Tottenham Hotspur Preview
Global Soccer / Football News
Tim Sherwood will attract much of the attention ahead of Sunday's north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, which will delight his opposite number. Arsene Wenger's Arsenal (18-5-5) were knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich on Tuesday and have been written off by many in the race for the domestic title, but know a win over their local rivals on Sunday would leave them still very much in contention for the Premier League crown as well as effectively sealing their top-four status for another season. The Gunners finished just one point above Spurs last season, but would go nine clear of their rivals with a win - which would also be their third derby victory of the season following a 1-0 league win in September and a comfortable 2-0 FA Cup victory in January. Despite his team's strong position, Gunners boss Wenger is fully aware it will be a tough game at White Hart Lane.

Southampton-Tottenham Hotspur Preview
Global Soccer / Football News
Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood will have to lift his players for Sunday's match against Southampton at White Hart Lane after the Lilywhites suffered an agonising exit from Europe in midweek. The London side's last hope of winning a trophy this season ended Thursday when they were knocked out of the Europa League after losing 5-3 on aggregate to Benfica. The Portuguese side won the first leg 3-1 at Spurs and went 4-1 up overall when defender Ezequiel Garay opened the scoring in the second leg in Lisbon. Spurs midfielder Nacer Chadli then scored twice within a minute to give Sherwood's side hope of a remarkable turnaround with over 10 minutes to go.

Manchester United-Newcastle United Preview
Global Soccer / Football News
Manchester United manager David Moyes faces a dilemma over how best to shuffle his pack for the trip to Newcastle United on Saturday. As they are currently 10 points adrift of fourth-place Arsenal with only six games to play, the Red Devils' hopes of Champions League football next season appear to rest on success in this year's competition. In breezing past Aston Villa 4-1 at Old Trafford last weekend Manchester United (16-6-10) finally performed in a manner befitting reigning Premier League champions. Moyes then made five changes to his starting line-up for Tuesday night's visit of Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and was rewarded with a creditable 1-1 first leg draw against the holders.

FIFA Probe Into Qatar World Cup Vote May Be Over By June
Global Soccer / Football News
FIFA may conclude its investigation into the voting procedure that resulted in the 2022 World Cup being awarded to Qatar before this year's finals starts in June, secretary general Jerome Valcke said on Friday. "An investigation is being run by (New York lawyer) Michael Garcia and the commission is interviewing all those involved in the case and it will soon be delivered to the (FIFA) ethics committee that is going to decide if any measures should be taken," Valcke told reporters. "That will be soon, maybe we will have a decision before the 2014 World Cup," he said after a four-day trip to Brazil. FIFA's investigation was launched last year into alleged corruption surrounding the voting procedure for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, awarded to Russia and Qatar respectively.
