Why do they seek after the world?
BARED BELLIES BOTHER BYU
Brigham Young University is going through a midriff crisis of sorts. Female students who choose to wear the popular combination of short shirts and low-riding pants or skirts are the norm at American colleges and universities, as well as high schools and even elementary schools.

I think this actually starts in the home. How many little 6 and 7 year olds do you see dressing this way. One might say it is harmless at that age, but I think we should always teach our children to dress modestly right from the start. Certainly by the time a kid enters high school they should only dress in clothing that could be worn after endowment as well. How many people need to change their style of dress as a result of their first Temple visit. It should be closer to 0 than 100%. I bet the reverse is true. I think for a convert this is different. They, often don't know about these standards of dress at the time of Baptism, but I should expect a person raised in the Church to be well aware of them.
What happens is that even though someone was raised in the Church it doesn't mean that automatically his/her family live by the standards of the Church about modesty. I personally found that those teenagers who were 'born' in the Church are the ones who give more problems about this issue than those who are 'converts'. Of course this is a matter of opinion, I personally think that if a young person decides to go to a religious university like BYU then they need to respect the rules whether they like it or agree with them or not. There are hundreds of universities for them to choose from if BYU do not suit them.

What about the skinny jeans issue, are skinny jeans really all that bad that they had to ban it? If they do then shouldn't you ban bathing suits which show skin?
