Questioning My Religion
Religion Based
Name: Pakhar
Comments: For a long time I have been studying various religions and have slowly begun questioning my own much to my mother's displeasure. I have been wondering though. Does everyone just simply believe the religion they have been brought up in or do they question it at some point to see if they are not just following something that they don't even know.
I was raised as a United Methodist. I have since then questioned everything. I have studied other religions and seem to come back to the one core that I have yet to be able to shake. I believe in Christ and that he died for our souls. I think many of the religions want you to believe as they believe and not question them. I think that is why I have a hard time going to a church and following some flock blindly.
At age 8 or so I felt something there that needed to be explained. My family was not religious but kept a big about it under a desk we had. I read it for a couple hours and remember feeling vastly more confused.
Not content with what I originally understood to be. I studied it more and many other books as well.
I am a person of and about the soul however it is in our human nature to question. If faith is not tested it is not faith, in my opinion. Edited: Oliron on 8th Apr, 2011 - 10:24am
