Should Christians Be Reading Horror Stories

Comments: I've always had a passion for the dark side of things in written form and love to read a horror story every now and again but some Christians who saw me doing it one day said I was encouraging Satan's angels around me and I should stop. Am I committing sin by reading horror books?
