THE FEMALE owner of a Chinese restaurant in St Helena who is a national of China, is believed to have been kidnapped while on her way to her Barataria home on Wednesday night. The woman's car was later found abandoned with its doors open and keys in the ignition along Seventh Street in Barataria.

Late last night, investigators said that the investigation is at a sensitive stage and they are "close to a breakthrough." According to a police report, at about 11.45 pm a gold-coloured Nissan Tiida car (PCN 1637) was found abandoned by relatives of its owner, Xue Hua Shan.

According to TV6 News there has been a four million dollar ransom demand via text message to one of the relatives of Xue Hua Shan.

Four million ransom demand? And no proof of life? I'm so afraid to just imagine what happened with this lady. I hope they find her safe and sound.
