How safe is Trinidad?

Comments: My husband was offered a job in Trinidad, but reading all the comments about crime, I am not sure he should accept it. We have lived in St Croix and thought the crime was bad, but it seems it was nowhere near what Trinidad is. How safe is Trinidad?

I won't lie to you. Crime is escalating every day with 122 murders for this year alone. I will say it all depends on location, if you can find a nice neighborhoud (they tend to be very expensive) then you have better chances to be ok but even in those places there are a lot of breaks-in incidents.
