Goddess of Easter
Religion Based
Name: Heta
Comments: Is there a Goddess of Easter in paganism, if so please tell me about it?
The word Easter is derived from the name of the Classical Pagan Goddess Eaoster.
She was the Goddess of Springtime and new growth. She was worshiped in both Roman and Greek Pantheons, and her festival was adopted by the Christian church as the re-birth time for their God. How the name was so closely copied I don't know, but the date for Easter Sunday changes each year by following the Pagan Moon Cycle.
