Comments: When the Samurai were fighting for the Emperor those who knew karate didn't have a chance because of the extended rage of the sword so why didn't they develop more weapon use like the Chinese Shaolin did.
I'm afraid there is a Historical inaccuracy here. The Samurai and those who did Karate never met. Samurai wielded Katana back in the 17th century, Karate as we know it today was not invented until the 1920's. The People who faced the Samurai's sword, such as peasants and other Bushi and Priests did have their own weapons. Many farming and trade tools were used as weapons - the Nunchaku, the Sai, the Kama and the Jutte. Various sticks and staffs were used along with the oaken sword - the Bokken. In the right hands a hardwood weapon could shatter a sword. It was illegal for a person to carry a sword if you were not a Noble, so they used what they had to hand.
