Most people do not know how they will react in a situation of great danger. How do you think you will react?
In the few situations I have been in I have found myself either acting immediately or in a delayed mode as though I were wrapped with tape. Like Dio said, it really depends on the situation, but what is for sure... my heart always thumped in a way as though I were about to lift heavy weight.

Well Unfournately I have been in this situation and I know I dont think I just react to help. And most often its the first thing that pops into my head, even if after you look back and realize how un-smart it was .
It depends on the situation. I tend to be afraid but definetly not showing that I am (specially if there is a criminal around, if you look like a victim, then you will become one).

I think I would remain calm but I dont see myself trying to get control of the situation, which equates to doing nothing. I dont think I would panic, but then again, like Neo stated, most people dont know how they would react, so this is all a guess.

I hate those situations. **shudders** I can think back to all of the threatning and dangerous situations.
I have found that I will be the one to remain calm and get done what needs to be done until somebody else is around to do so. When I was in 8th grade, my closest friend at the time and I got attacked by bees. When it was the two of us, I was completely calm and trying to keep her calm. Hours later after we'd gotten away from everything and I had been rushed to the hospital and had come back to my senses (because 19 stings will do that to you) I completely went hysterical. I was terrified of any living bug for the next two years.
When I was in a car wreck that should have killed all of us involved (because hitting another car going 95 mph will usually do that to people ) I was calm when we were in the car. Once I was out, and people were around taking care of things, I just went hysterical.
When a friend of mine and I (the same one I was in the wreck with) were being chased down in a car by these really big scary guys, I was the one who kept control. Of course, I'm glad she listened to me since she was the one driving.
Most of the time I would have an immediate reaction and try to control myself to better suit the situation and attempt to take control. Although a lot of cases would be better to just remain calm and stay put. As everyone has wisely stated it depends on the situation at hand.
