Comments: I'm always biting my nails and can't seem to stay in one place for long am I OCD?
The nail biting might be an OCD behavior but I do not think so.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
The name kind of says it all. When my friend calls me up and says,"Hey it's me! I'll be right back!" and then hangs up only to call me back immediately- that's OCD behavior. She does it all the time.... All the time. If I try to stop her from doing so it really stresses her out in a manner that causes confusion and anxiety. That signals a substantial difference between her and the rest of us.
Most people have something, some kind of hangup or little annoyances that we just cannot handle. For my wife it's dirt and a lack of order. It annoys me. She will clean things that I have just cleaned. She will insist that I clean something and then clean it immediately afterwards for no apparent reason.
Is it OCD? Probably not. The actions she takes are not causing any kind of distress in her life. Obsessive cleaners with a problem are the kind of people who wash their hands five times in a row every time they wash. Why is this a problem? Because they eventually rub the skin raw.
Nail biting, on the other hand, is generally considered a stress behavior.
