Dumbing North American Children
Is it true that there is a directive to change the way children are educated so they believe what they are told and nothing more?
Are we raising a generation of nincompoops?
Second-graders who can't tie shoes or zip jackets. Four-year-olds in Pull-Ups diapers. Five-year-olds in strollers. Teens and preteens befuddled by can openers and ice-cube trays. College kids who've never done laundry, taken a bus alone or addressed an envelope. Ref. Source 3
Obama admin thinks kids = lab rats
>From The Blaze (in a story that shows Cass Sunstein's lab rat style governing in action) the Obama administration is trying to manipulate kids into eating healthier foods. The Blaze reports, "The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today it is giving $2 million to food behavior scientists to use marketing tricks to encourage kids to pick fruits and veggies over cookies and french fries." Eating healthier foods is a good thing. Government manipulating our children with experimental psychology? Ref. Source 8
I know that many people look at all that is happening and will look at the direction our education system is going. I believe that the children in the USA are quickly falling behind all other children in the world as they use modern connivances to do anything that they deem hard to do.
"The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States, whatever the pretensions of politicians, pedagogues, and other such mountebanks, and that is its aim everywhere else....Their purpose, in brief, is to make docile and patriotic citizens, to pile up majorities, and to make John Doe and Richard Doe as nearly alike, in their everyday reactions and ways of thinking, as possible."
-- H. L. Mencken - (1880-1956) American Journalist, Editor, Essayist, Linguist, Lexicographer, and Critic
Why the United States Is Destroying Its Education System
By Chris Hedges
A nation that destroys its systems of education, degrades its public information, guts its public libraries and turns its airwaves into vehicles for cheap, mindless amusement becomes deaf, dumb and blind. It prizes test scores above critical thinking and literacy. Ref. Source 2
Indoctrination of our Children
Last Friday Rachel called into the radio program about an earth day rap that her six-year-old came home singing from school one day including the lyrics, "Boycott, petition, let the big business know that if we mess it up here, there's nowhere else we can go." Rachel and her daughter appeared on today's radio program - get their story and the plan to stop the indoctrination Ref. Source 7
