Comments: So your friends come over and after awhile someone says let's play a board game, isn't that kind of tacky?

It can be but depends like how its done. If you just came over and someone said that right away then I'd think that's totally weird. If people weren't talking much or everyone is shy then that might be good to bring out a board game but then again I don't think I would be there to wait for that.

Are Board Games Tacky? Reviews RPG & Card Board

If friends come over and the purpose for their visit wasn't already established then I would solicit their oppinion as to what they would like to do and if they didn't seem really sure then I would offer a couple of possibilities and one of those would be to play a game.

Comments: In crowds, well let's say more than five people I think a board game might be tacky. I would more go for something like Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit (minus the board) or a card game. Board games seem good for smaller numbers where you don't have to be waiting a long time for each person to make their move.
