I would have to agree that my top two qualities to look for in a partner are the top two listed in that poll. I think it's extra important to remember the qualities you loved about the person when you met them, and not hold it against them later.

JB, just because 90% believe in it doesn't mean it occurs as such in reality. At one time I'm sure 90% of the world thought the Earth was flat but that doesn't mean it was. As far as the whole fidelity issue is concerned, a good mate is not a perfect mate because quite frankly humanity is not perfect. Thus, mistakes are made by both males and females.

This brings up another issue of what constitutes as a breach of fidelity. Some view promiscuous sexual dalliances as a violation while others do not. In fact in some countries and religions, men are encouraged to take on mistresses or additional wives.

I would like to see a more extensive study on the subject but I doubt anyone would be willing to fund such an endeavor.

I am well aware of that, my comments were directed in a sarcastic way towards the unrealistic 'ideals' that people have and yet do nothing to make it reality according to the poll.
