American Married To A Trini

I am an American married to a Trini of 7 years. As far as I can remember. I've always been attracted to West Indain women , espeacially Trini's. I find the Jamaican women to have nasty attitudes. The day I met my wife I heard the accent. It was all over from there. I think her biggest mistake was when she introduced me to curry chicken and roti. I wanted curry chicken everyday. I still have'nt mastered the dance yet. (wine) But it's coming along. I can dance better to Reggae than Soca. After my tour is up in Iraq I want to visit Trinidad. My wife is from Caroni County. (Carpachima) So what will I expect as an American visiting Trinidad.

Well if you like the food and the dancing a lot then you will have loads of fun, but I am not personally into that kind of dancing so maybe someone else will give you tips on where to go, etc. As for the food, there is more exotic dishes besides roti, your wife will introduce you to callaloo, breadfruit, pelau, shark & bake, polouri (sp?), etc. There are many things to see and so, but keep in mind that this is an island, so do not look for the development that the US has, nor its way of thinking, everything here is very laid back (unfortunately in my opinion).

Offtopic but, You are on active duty as a soldier there? If so you should add input in the Iraq thread already started in the International board.
