Comments: As the landlady of a small apartment building am I within my rights to refuse to rent to someone because they have been a convicted felon?

I guess this goes from country to country but for me you should be able to rent to whomever you want to after screening them. I do not know if you can go all the way to request a criminal record but from an interview and references you should be able to choose the person you want to rent to.
