Swimmers 'may have found surfer'
Local Australia News
A police officer ordered swimmers out of the water at a surf lifesaving carnival despite believing they had the best chance of finding a missing competitor, an inquest heard. Acting Sergeant Bruce Kolka told Brisbane Coroners Court yesterday he became frustrated when up to 50 swimmers were ordered from heavy surf on the Gold Coast while searching for Saxon Bird, a lifesaver from the Sydney club Queenscliff, pictured.
