I started fishing just over a year ago, I don't fish on a regular basis so would still call myself very much a beginner.
To be perfectly honest with you for your starting kit the brand is irrelevant. As long as you have the items to fish you best off starting with something cheap.
I'm not sure where your from but near me we have a shop called Go Outdoors, you can pick up a rod and reel for about £20 thats really all you need to get started,. Once you find your feet thats when you want to be looking at brands and good gear.
