I Love You ?

I don't even think those three words have any meaning anymore. People say it so casually now.

For example, people go out for a month and then they start talking about how they're soo in love. then they break up 2 weeks later and they dont talk to the guy anymore, and dont care about them at all. I'd think that if you were REALLY in love you wouldnt just stop caring like that.

Maybe I'm old fashion or something but I think that I love you should be saved for when you really mean it, and when the person really means something to you.

I agree with you 100% xtrasweet. Too many people take those words for granted. I don't think theres anything old-fashioned about believing that you should save that sentiment for the right person. I think the reason that many people say that to one another is because they feel that its SUPPOSED to be said....as if its the natural step that you must take when you're seeing someone. When we start taking feelings for granted... I'd like to know what will be next?

I guess we throw it around each other...just a sudden rush of affection and we're all I LOVE YOU and then its kinda forgotten, but i think in order to say it, the burst of affection must be pretty strong...so its still sweet to hear it. And given the context, i think you'll just know if it was sincere

Love I

How true the words I love you have lost their true meaning. I have used it more than once with women that I've dated and I don't believe I was in love with them. It wasn't until I started dating my current gf and the fact that we don't have a physical relationship at all. We talk to each other on the phone and emails but I have never touched her cheek or ran my fingures through her hair. But yet I have never felt for any woman the way I feel for her. I now know what love is, it is best put in the Bible, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." I never really felt this type of love until I met my gf.
