Comments: I've only been living here like three months and now he says he has to sell because he cannot keep up the mortgage. He should of told me that before!

My first question will be what does your contract say? If he cannot keep up the mortgage he may not have a choice and if he can;'t pay you will have to vacate eventually anyway. Sad situation but with the tough times in the US it is a common thing.

The owner of the land can sell it when ever he/she wants to. IF the land owner goes into default the bank can force the renter to vacate before the land is sold. Often with little or no notice.
