Who Do We Confess To God Or Man?

Comments: Does the Bible say we are supposed to confess our sins to god or to men that say they can hear confessions? Who gives men the right to hear confessions is it just because they say god 'told' them they have that right?

Maybe we can confess to God but I don't believe in confessing to any man because they are just as sinful as the next person. What I might be doing is compromising my position by revealing my life to someone who probably should also be confessing.
