She wrote a book (her memoir) where she says that she was sexually molested as a child, later on raped on a date by a known music producer and years later sexually harassed by a famous music artist.
In a upcoming memoir, former "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi says she was molested as a child and date-raped by a music producer, according to a report from E! Online.
Out April 26, DioGuardi's "A Helluva High Note" reveals the horrors that the successful songwriter faced in her youth.
DioGuardi reportedly says that she was molested repeatedly when she was just 11 years old by the son of a family friend, who was in his late teens at the time.
"On one particular day, he took me into the back shed of his house and put his hands all over my breasts and vagina," E! quotes her book as saying. "I remember freezing and not knowing what to do."
Years later, when her music career began to take off, DioGuardi says a "fairly known producer" invited her to a friendly dinner, but the night ended in horror.
"[W]ithin hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating," she said, detailing the r-pe.
DioGuardi says she repeatedly told him to stop, but was too scared to fight him off for fear that he would turn violent. She later kept quiet about the ordeal for fear that he would destroy her career, E! reports.
