Dennis Mcguire

Dennis McGuire, an Ohio man convicted in 1994 of aggravated murder, was executed today, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction said.

He was expected to be put to death with a two-drug cocktail never before used in a U.S. Execution. But the initial announcement of the execution didn't say whether the two-drug combination was used.

McGuire was convicted in the aggravated murder of Joy Stewart in Preble County. Ref. CNN
