What is your review for the HBO film, called "Rome" about the last years of Julius Caesar's reign, centered on two Roman soldiers, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, and their families?

So many rave reviews, but in the end I was sorely disappointed. I had to blank parts of it. The focus seemed to be more on language and sexuality more than picturing history and presenting something moving. I guess you cannot expect much more from an HBO production.

I have to say that "Rome" looks to be the best production of ancient Rome I have seen yet. Yes, Gladiator was a cool movie, but it lacked was historical accuracy. "Rome" has brought together what no one though possible: historical accuracy and unparalleled production.
