Kindle Fire costs more to make than sell
Amazon.com Inc's new tablet computer costs US$209.63 (NZ$275.15) to make, IHS iSuppli estimated on Friday, but will sell for US$199 (NZ$261.13), highlighting how the e-commerce company is taking a financial hit upfront to get the device into as many hands as possible. Ref. Source 1
From what I have been reading and looking at I think this is a good buy if you live in the States. Seems Canadian users are still having issues in accessing the Amazon web site for apps and books.
I understand that the UK is OK also if any one can confirm this it would be nice for would be buyers to know.
There is also the security issues. For instance to use Kindle you have to access an Amazon account which of course has your CC info. Now you guys know how much you need on your PC to protect your info when transmuting through the net... Well the Kindle does not have all that protection, oh no!
