And man shall have no sexual relations before marriage and fidelity within marriage. Are there any grey areas?

As the father of 2 girls it is scary to me what my daughters are facing. In the world, they are told to look like a model, and that sex is ok. After the first couple of dates, you can do whatever you want. We have birth control out there, which teens are now put on because they are sexually active, rather than confronting the issue of being sexually active. I just thank our Heavenly Father that we have the gospel on this earth, and that we strengthen our family through Family Home Evening, etc. I wish my girls could stay little girls all their life, because from what I'm told, the teen years are the most stressful...

Yes, we have to be thankful to Heavenly Father for the Gospel in our lives but also we need to be more concern about our children, just because they have the knowledge and we teach them the right principles, doesn't mean they are not going to do it. We have to keep an eye on them constantly, trust them of course, after all we cannot be with them 24/7 but definetly have a close relationship with them, know their friends, activities, etc.

ELDER OAKS WARNS AGAINST DEBT AND PORNOGRAPHY

Speaking last Sunday at the dedication of a Church building in Cedar City,
Utah, Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles encouraged
students to avoid credit card debt, pornography, and studying on the
Sabbath. "Flee pornography," he said. "It frightens me when I see the
terrible influence of the adversary."

"You should be attracted to one another and to marry. Then, and only
then, may you worthily respond to the strong and good and constant desire
to express that love through which children will bless your lives. By
commandment of God our Father, that must happen only between husband and
wife--man and woman--committed to one another in the covenant of marriage
(see 1 Cor. 7:2; D&C 42:22). To do otherwise is forbidden and will bring
sorrow."

I just finished reading Pres. Hinckley's talk in the Priesthood Session of last General Conference - fantastic and in my opinion - much needed, especially within my country. Here are some excerpts I would like to quote:

"Dear President Hinckley,

"My husband of 35 years died recently. . . . He had visited with our good bishop as quickly as he could after his most recent surgery. Then he came to me on that same evening to tell me he had been addicted to pornography. He needed me to forgive him [before he died]. He further said that he had grown tired of living a double life. [He had served in many important] Church callings while knowing [at the same time] that he was in the grips of this 'other master.'

"I was stunned, hurt, felt betrayed and violated. I could not promise him forgiveness at that moment but pleaded for time. . . . I was able to review my married life [and how] pornography had . . . put a stranglehold on our marriage from early on. We had only been married a couple of months when he brought home a [pornographic] magazine. I locked him out of the car because I was so hurt and angry. . . .

"For many years in our marriage . . . he was most cruel in many of his demands. I was never good enough for him. . . . I felt incredibly beaten down at that time to a point of deep depression. . . . I know now that I was being compared to the latest 'porn queen'. . . . "

I recently read that pornography has become a $57 billion industry worldwide. Twelve billion of this is derived in the United States by evil and "conspiring men" (see D&C 89:4) who seek riches at the expense of the gullible. It is reported that it produces more revenue in the United States than the "combined revenues of all professional football, baseball and basketball franchises or the combined revenues of ABC, CBS, and NBC" ("Internet Pornography Statistics: 2003," Internet, https://www.healthymind.com/5-port-stats.html).

Brethren, we can do better than this. When the Savior taught the multitude, He said, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God" (Matthew 5:8).

Now, my brethren, I do not wish to be negative. I am by nature optimistic. But in such matters as this I am a realist. If we are involved in such behavior, now is the time to change. Let this be our hour of resolution. Let us turn about to a better way.

Chastity Law

"Lucifer is unleashing vulgar, revolting, violent, and sleazy filth with
the design to destroy the spiritual sensitivity of our Father's children.
We truly are at war with those who mock God and shun the truth, so let
us keep our covenants and heed our call to service. Let us marshal all
of the Lord's resources, including the power of our own testimonies.
Let them be heard by many more people."
M. Russell Ballard, "Now Is the Time," Ensign, Nov. 2000, 77

"In life, as in athletics, there are standards, or measured behavior. There are rights and wrongs. . . . Unfortunately, we are seeing the removal of traditional standards of morality and behavior in today's world. The vernacular of today is 'anything goes.' The world views time-honored standards as old-fashioned or out-of-date. We belong to a church where adhering to standards is expected. Things that have always been wrong in the past are still wrong today. The Church does not modify standards of morality by adapting to changing customs or to the mores of the societies in which we live."

Of all the things that are most challenged today, chastity is probably at the top of the list. Satan has planned well in targeting this one, because if you can get someone to break the law of chastity then you also get:

1. A feeling of worthlessness
2. Breakup of families (divorce)
3. Stay away from Church
4. In extreme cases it can lead to murder

Most of all, it is hard to keep straight after eating the 'apple' as it were. This is why it is so important to wait til marriage.
