Moruga Secondary School - Demon Attacks? Caribbean / Tobago & Trinidad

Comments: I for one will not believe that it is a case of 'demon possession". If you notice, apart from only girls complaining, it is only Afro-Trinidians as well. It is simply a case of these Afro-Trinidian students, and other members of christian denominations trying to blame the Hindu community for saying pagan prayers in their school.

Attacks Demon School Secondary Moruga

Chrislai that is the most ignorant I've read for a long time! On the news yesterday a pastor down there was accusing many down there in Moruga of practicing Obeah which is AFRICAN in origin. Anyway, enough foolishness I tend to side with ATrini and the Ministry of Health right to send mental health specialists down there to see what's going on.

Comments: Blaming demons and witchcraft is for the lazy. If you take the time and do a proper investigation I'm sure you can come up with a more intelligent conclusion. Remember the days when natural disasters were vengeance from the Gods? And still... In this generation your solution to a health issue is an exorcism... Really? By whose religious standard? [..]

From the initial report the day before, children were just experiencing headaches and nausea. Personally I feel that now individuals just running with the superstitious nature of the community for their own means. Additionally, it seriously disturbs me when people link obeah to demon worship.

Obeah is of African origin and for a long time it has been feared because no one really took time to understand it... And Hollywood just exaggerated and commercialized on that. Just as Greek and Roman mythologies are essentially the same, the teachings, practices and philosophies in obeah are quite similar to Hinduism and Buddhism... Both of which are accepted as legitimate religions... And as from black magic... Even Catholics have their magic blends and food that has been prayed upon "holy water, holy wine, the body of Christ"... What makes that any different :|.

All of that is a product of culture ranking again. For generations the African community have been socialized into hating their roots, Their skin, their hair, their features and their culture. Its about time the Afro-Caribbean community takes a step back and examine the History they've been taught. And the Ministry of health or somebody should do a proper investigation on the happenings of Moruga Secondary.

And so ends my rant.

Comments: I think that something must be done to help the students at this school if it means getting someone to remove these demons that are attacking the students parents must also take some sort of action towards this. The government should also give in to this scary situation that is happening.
