It is a facility, you, as the Dungeon Master, decide how you use the rolls, and which rolls you use and when to use them. What this does is ensure they are not inventing numbers. Do read the News bulletin about this as I am more detailed with all the points of it.
JB, I have a question, I just made a in [character] post in KittenPunk's game, after posting the message, I see this same sign that you put on my post including the others, it says that I rolled the dice, but I didn't, why this sign is telling me that even though that is not true?
I'm beginning to wonder if anyone reads the Member Wars Updates & News! or they just expect me to follow them around giving the answers? More especially since the dice roll immediately contains a "[?]" Link with the full explanation to the new feature. I am going to highlight the Updates & News Thread now.
JB, I want to confirm that, after consulting my players about it, we decided that we can go without the dice roller. I will explain the reasons why I brought up the subject to give some feedback and to explain that mine is not a whim.
1- I believe players should actively roll for the key actions, such as combat, because rolling your own dice is an important part of playing the game. Most players, including myself, own special and expensive set of dice (I have a chromed and a bone set and already asked my mom to send them from Italy since I'm playing again now) and entrust their luck to them. Rolling with a mouse click is not the same but still gives the feeling of being master of our own fate. An automatic roll spoils the fun.
2- Often we need more than 2 rolls from the same dice type (Initiative and Attack are already 2 d20 which means I would have to roll for any additional action).
3- In some cases, I don't want the players to know the result of their rolls (when hiding, moving silently, bluffing and so on) because it could influence their future decisions. But if they post the actions and see a result under it, it will be difficult to explain why I didn't take that roll into account.
I apologize for the inconvenience. I know that coding that roller was time costing for you and I really appreciate the effort and your will of offering a useful tool to us. But I think is better if you save resources taking it off from our game because we will not be using it.
Two things to note for those still confused:
1. Comments for MY CODES and MY ENHANCEMENTS to Member Wars go here. I do not read or follow Members around trying to decipher their needs. Things related to a GM / Dungeon Master's Role-playing Game go in their respective Threads.
2. The Member Wars Dice Options were enhanced significantly as per this update: Source 4
Hi Canabusis, having trouble getting started... Don't know where to turn... I got threw the intro page then went to download and it asked for credit card info .. I input it to verify my address? And it says that I already have a username and account with that card... Called the support number and well basically told me that I have to use that one ok well I asked my username and password said they would send it to my email address wich turns out I mistakenly inout it wrong so I can't get the email, lady said nothing could be done? So I cancelled that one but still can't use my card for a new account... And don't have another one to use? Any suggestions would really like to play? Lost and confused?
Canabusis, what are you talking about? Download? Credit card info? To play Dungeons & Dragons on this site is FREE! I also do not know who you called but it was not us, you must be mixing up sites. In your Intro Thread: Want To Play Dungeons & Dragons No One To Play With Horde gave you the exact links to follow, did you follow that? To start you go here: [+] Member Wars RPG and choose a Dungeons & Dragons Role-playing Game that you want to be part of... You will then see a Thread that offers an explanation of how to create a Character, do you see that?
JB first off, I hope that this is the appropriate place to ask you this question. Second I don't know if there is a thread already for this. I have come to notice that a lot of the same people play multiple Role-playing Games within the Dungeons & Dragons / member wars threads. Is there a place that you can post general discussions. Examples; Out of character questions, Role-playing Game comparison (Comparing say Kittenpunk's Role-playing Game to say for instance Brunconero's, or any mixture of Role-playing Games within?),
Getting any or giving any character/player feedback, And also personal information pertaining to "I will not be able to post or play for a while" Type information. I notice that between the varying Role-playing Game threads that many have a player discussion thread while others either don't have one available or use that thread differently. (Like in character role-playing amongst themselves without interaction from the GM or Dungeon Master) Basically my thoughts are this: Do we have or can we have a thread for all member wars members and or Joe Public to just discuss things that could be in a gray area so to speak? I would like to be able to ask anyone within the member wars threads questions or make comments about various characters and or help with game process, and be able to state that in one place as oppose to placing the same question in three to four different threads. So that someone could get an answer to something as minimal or as extravagant an answer as they seek? I hope you understand what I'm trying to get across to you. I hope this was the proper place to ask you this. Thank you very much for your help and guidance. Also more of a side note I tried to give a donation using Paypal but it says that I need to have an e-mail address to direct my donation to? I am confused about this because I've never had Paypal ask for one. And if this is correct then to what e-mail address would I send it to? I apologize if this was stated somewhere and I failed to see it. Thank you once again.
