THE shooting death of a 20-year-old Laventille man one street away from his home has left officers and residents in the area baffled.

Jermaine Stewart, police said, was shot five times about the body by unknown assailants around 12.45 a.m. Yesterday. The murder occurred along Leon Street, off the Eastern Main Road, Laventille. Stewart, who lived at neighbouring Dorata Street, Laventille, died at the scene.

I know the article says he wasn't known for criminal activity but I have my doubts. This case sounds exactly like many others we read who are drug/gang related.

Conventgirl, sometimes a person may be in the wrong time at the wrong place. I didn't know the victim so I cannot say I just hope whoever is responsible is held accountable.
