Oil prices, like the flowers in spring, are perennial. The whole world knows America goes on vacation in June, so just like last year and the years before that, they start raising the price in early spring. What else is new.
I hope I live to see America start throwing rocks at the environmentalist that keep us from drilling for our own oil and stop us ( US ) from building more refineries.

You want to throw rocks at them. I say cut the dang tree down that they are sitting in. Maybe a good knock on their head will wake them up and make them see that we as americans can do much more to make ourselves energy independent from foreign oil. I think the big oil companies making sure they keep congress in their back pockets are helping us stay dependant on oil. We need to get rid of those who are being paid off.
I wish the US would use their own oil and not be dependent or rouge oil giants like OPEC and greedy countries that want to increase the price to fuel their own economies. This will allow US financial / oil independence and cause the world market to cool down. There are supposed to be extremely large oil deposits in Alaska, this could power the US for years giving time for everyone to switch to solar energy or other types of fuel.

Oil Falls After Setting New Record
Oil Reaches $106!
A sign posted on a gas pump notifies motorists that the gas station is out of gas Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Bushnell, Fla. The owner of the station said he hadn't ordered fuel in a month because the oil companies were charging him too high a cost for him to make a profit. The national average price of a gallon of gas rose 0.7 cent overnight to $3.185, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

I am concerned about this ever increasing price of oil. It gives local markets the excuse they need to raise prices regardless to whether that increase is justified or not. It also deters people in the US from making purchases, not good for me.

It's not good for anyone's economy. We'll be seeing independent truckers just leaving their rigs by the side of the road when they can't afford to put any more fuel in them. The price of groceries goes up as a result of higher transportation costs. I'm lucky in that I am merely a mile from my office, but I really feel bad for folks who are commuting 20 - 50 miles a day (and for those who are driving farther than that every day - consider moving! ). Let's hope this is just a "boom" cycle that will end soon.
