I will be one of the last to get the stimulus checks as they are going by the last two digits of your SSN mine being 96 I am at the bottom of the list somewhere.
I am not sure how I am going to afford $4 dollar gas. Right now we are at $ 3.559 for the cheapest. Diesel is $4.299 here and rising.
As farseer said.

It's going to be a long, hot, going-nowhere summer. |
That check needs to be rolled up and placed forcefully in a dark place in the person in control of the pumps. Take what they can give but really it is a act of deflection so that the general population will quieten down a bit. How2 about a viable solution that might bring things back under control.

Chicago, Long Island now average $4 a gallon
Drivers in some parts of the country are paying considerably more, however. Gas pump prices in parts of California, where the average is down to $3.96, have been stuck above $4 a gallon for weeks now. Prices in Alaska and Connecticut are averaging just above $4 a gallon statewide.

Usually our gas prices in Alaska jump on Wednesdays. It went up a dime last week to $3.96 and by the time we got back to town today (Monday) it was $4.06!
I don't know if it is because of Memorial Day Weekend and they know people are getting ready for a long weekend and a lot of traveling? Or if they are going to raise them again this week? It can be very disheartening though!

Have not hear what if any price increase this week I am still sitting at 1.25 per litre (4.75 gallon us)
A demonstration is planned here at start each month in Toronto a slow moving car brigade followed by 30 days do not purchase petrocanada gas next month will be a different manufacturer. It is a try and 30 days no sales in Ontario's for one of these companies would help better if all of north America would jo9in in. The USA number are more important then ours for hitting a big firms pocket books. In the year end each company would get the same monies.
I think we would need to just stay with one company that used the most imported oil and boycott for 6 moths or more.

With memorial day fast approaching it is the unoffical start of the summer driving season. Gas prices usually go up because of this. I am thinking that many people will not be driving as much as they normal were due to the high cost of oil and thus gasoline. I believe that all of this is going to lead us into a recession. I also believe that the world is not producing as much oil as it used to. The amount of oil available for the world market is going to fall soon and the price is going to even go higher.
We need another source of fuel and we need it yesterday. But that is just my opinion.
Urban Oil Boom
The average price of gas at the pump is soaring, reaching an average of $3.94 a gallon today. And it's those record high prices that are rejuvenating drilling projects in some of the largest oil fields in America. The enormous reserves of crude buried below Los Angeles are being profitably extracted on a large scale for the first time since the early 20th century. And it's driving an urban oil boom, producing tens of millions of barrels a year.
