U.S. Gasoline prices have jumped to the highest levels ever for the middle of February. The national average hit $3.127 per gallon on Friday, about 50 cents above a year ago. Ref. Source 4

Oil did drop today but I feel that is going to be short lived. I hope that things stabilize in the middle east soon and hope that we are not seeing the beginnings of the third world war.

What was the big story in the 2008 election prior to the market collapse? Gas prices. All the Democrats were leading the charge, complaining that George W. Bush and his cronies were in bed with big oil and making prices go up. Hillary Clinton even declared if America wanted gas prices to decrease, elect democrats. How's that working out? Yeah these revolutions are not going to help the price of oil (gasoline). I know that it is partially because of the republicans in my state. I don't know though if it gets much higher many people are going to be more than strapped. I only use my car to get to work and back and that is getting expensive.

I can imagine that many people are going to have to cut out groceries and bare essentials like that from their budget in the future. There is going to be a lot more angry people in America pretty soon.
