How low will oil prices go? It is leveling off around $45 a barrel but could it dip even more and make it really difficult for countries dependent on this resource? The middle east and Venezuela will start laying off workers if this continues.

They will drop till the OPEC can no longer make money. But not sure on lay offs as it depends on the relationship between the oil well ownership and the refinery. I have noticed that out pump prices are stabilized and are now increasing. After all pump price can be set at what every they like so huge profits could be made at the refinery to offset crude prices. Buy at 40 a barrel and sell at a dollar fifteen per litre at the pump.
This would keep the pressure on Russia and terrorist liking countries while our companies do ok.
Oils sands not so much as we soled out to the Chinese.

I feel the oil prices was to disable the money making power of ISIS and destabilize Russia. Remember some moths ago I think it was Biden or some other rep went to the Middle East for talks and just after the oil prices started going down.

If it does start to increase again I hope they aren't going to hit the hundred mark. Like Krakyn said, I haven't seen a big reduction in pump prices or goods that count on gas prices, not even airline ticket prices have changed!

I am sure you will see the hundred again but remember oil price is supposed to hit critical around 2045. I would worry more over water and shortages by 2025.

Oil prices should not be a big issue if businesses can transition to renewable fuels and solar power. Most people think its cars on the road that take up all the oil but really its the big machinery that big business runs like airlines for an example.
