O.K. So let's decide what we will do if nothing is discovered in our scouting.
Here is what I suggest. Althea takes some of her rope, ties the bird cage to one end. Ice and Sokei stand ready to fight, Ice with bow and arrow drawn ready to fire, Sokei with his sword drawn and at the ready. Elda, opens the trap door ever so slowly. If no one comes out at us. Drop the bird down for a few minutes bring it back up. If it is still alive, light Elda can light a torch and go down into the cave with Ice following close behind. Then comes Althea with the bird and Sokei follows protecting our rear.
We really need to speed up the play of this game.
o, if this sounds good to everyone, then we should post this as soon as the GM replies to us regarding the perimeter check UNLESS, he says we find another entrance or something else of interest in our search.
So, everyone should either indicate this works for them, or suggest what they want there character to do differently. We don't all need to agree with the changes. If a particular character doesn't want to do it this way, then when our leader posts he can just modify my suggestion to tailor it to what each individual wants their character to do that is different from my suggestion. We, as a group need to agree on what we will do generally, but not necessarily each character chooses to do specifically.
Question, You make it sound like the trap door goes staight down, do we have evidence of this? I know its in the ground but it could staighten out very close to the start. I still think we should send in someone very cautiously first. I dont bleieve there are many mines that have gas leaks at the entrance. ^_^ I dont think there is much indiviudally we can do I think we might get surprise attacked by wolves of some such thing, so we should be ready.
Once the door's open, we'll need to look and see if it's a straight drop or if it levels off quickly. The tracks show footprints by persons that are carrying something heavy -- it may be rather level but with a short ladder? With wolves outside, perhaps we should make camp within the mine, or just not make camp at all? However, I'm afraid if we don't get some rest after that long march, we'll not be at our best physically/mentally within the mine when trouble comes (and it will!).
I agree with everything else. Onward
Well at least we know somthing big is in there!
I think we should proceed in, or fight off wolves (euulala experience ^_^) Forward ho i say, into the depths of the mine! it seems to me if there are huge men coming in and out, a huge man doesnt exactly fly down the hole, so i expect it to have stairs, or a staight path that eventaully goes down.
Guys, we don't have to figure it all out. Once we open the door, we can look to see what it does. If it doesn't do what we think, we change our plans.
As far as a gas leak, I am not worried about that, but how about gas planted to kill anyone who is trying to enter who doesn't belong? It is always best to be overly cautious. I have read several of JB's RPG games on this board. Everyone gets killed, and I think it is mostly because they aren't cautious enough or inquisitive enough. So, I still say, the canary goes in first. If you all feel strongly otherwise, fine, but then I will bring up the rear, not enter second. Once we are in, if nothing comes out at us that forces us to continue on quickly, we can rest inside the entrance taking turns on watch.
In any event, we need to get something posted quickly. We should be posting to party order once per day not once every 2 to 3 days except when we have big decisions to make. Fun, as leader, you make the final decision about what the party does as a whole, you just need to respect individual choices about what a person's own character does. So, you don't have to wait for us to all agree 100% before you post as long as you don't do something contrary to what one of us wants their own character to do.

Fine, but you need to be specific when you post. Specifically who is holding what and who goes in what order. I have already posted what I suggest people do and in what order we should enter. As long as I have my bow at the ready when you open the door, the rest is up to you, based upon what others have already said they want their characters to do.
I think the post should be only about opening the door and what positions we are all in as you open it. See what we are confronted with and then go from there.
