[camp] Gold Mine - Page 27

I say, we probably should only shoot if we have no other choice. If they both pass by without seeing us, we can leave the mine, regroup up in the woods and then discuss what is we would like to do going forward. I don't see any reason to waste ammunition on them, if they don't see us and move past us. We might need it later.

I think we should post that Ice will take cover behind the cart, Althea over her shoulder. Both prepared to fire arrows if necessary. Then Sokei can hide up against the wall near the entrance. Extinquish the torch. If we can't see them they can't see us. If they come in with torches lit, we should be able to see them before they see us. (I would specify that tactic in our post). If they both run by, Sokei can peek out to be sure it is clear for us to leave. Then if it is, we can quickly leave the mine and move away from the immediate entrance area where we can then take some time to discuss strategy for our next move.

If they don't both go by, then Sokei can try to surprise them with his spear, perhaps by using it to trip them or just to defend himself, while we alternate shooting arrows, carefully aiming them to not waste them.

O.K. SInce Ice is a warrior, maybe she should cover the hole and shoot the two people in it as they try to come up out of it. Althea and Ice could trade places. Ice will shoot the guys as they exit the hole since it is clear they intend to kill us if they find us. All other plans could remain the same. Or, should we wait totally for them to come up out of the hole and then take them both out at the same time?

I don't think we should wait for them to come up, I don't think we have room, and they are behind us -- kill or be killed, it looks like. So I think that means kill them as soon as we possibly can, don't wait for them to be acting together. Althea will switch places with Ice and cover the doorway as back up for Sokei, if necessary, and back Ice up as well.

Posting now.

Mine Gold camp

So far so good. I believe we did as well as we did because we were prepared and executed a well thought out plan. We need to continue to act this way, but we also need to act quickly or he will just have more people come attack us.

Here is my assessment of how things stand right now.

Two dead from below - leaves 3 more down there (that we know of).
One dead from above, one seriously wounded. At least another 4 from the other part of the mine. Quite likely those 4 are right outside this room. We don't know how many more there are.

Do we stand and continue to fight until we run out of ammo. I don't think that is wise. Yet, how do we get out of here safely?

I think we need to proceed cautiously out of this room and to the exit. One of us needs to lead - I volunteer and one of us needs to be watching our back the entire time. In the dark, I think we are better served by swords than we are arrows.

I suggest the following: If Sokei doesn't see anything, he should quickly crawl out to the torch while Althea covers him with her bow and arrow. Drag the torch back in here and extinguish it. He should also try to get his spear back.

If Sokei sees nothing, then, I am willing to lead us out of here. I will quickly step out hugging the wall with my sword now drawn and my shield as well. Althea should follow me with her bow and arrow drawn ready to fire in either direction and Sokei take up the rear. Sokei should keep his focus on what is behind us more than what is ahead. If there is a threat from ahead, I will alert us, if there is a threat from behind he needs to alert us. If he manages to get his spear back he should keep it drawn ready to fire at anything he sees behind us. If he doesn't get his spear back, he will need to keep his sword drawn and hopefully Althea can kill anything he sees from behind with her arrows. Then if when a threat happens, Althea can fire arrows over Sokei's shoulder if the spear isn't enough to end the threat or over mine if the threat is from ahead. I will fight with my sword any threat that overcomes us that we don't forsee. If we become aware of a threat in the distance I can use my bow and arrows instead of my sword, but this probably is the best way to begin at least. The ultimate goal should be to get to the mine entrance and then get out and get out quickly. Once out, run as fast as possible to the shelter of the woods. My life is more important than any gold.

What do you all think.

=====================

Ice whispers gruffly to the others. "Son of Gun!!! What do we do now? There are at least 3 more strong men below, and another 4 outside of this room in the mine. Who knows how many others there might be. We need to get out of here somehow and quickly! Sokei, take a quick look and see if you see anyone out there. If you don't see anything, grab that torch get it in here and put it out! Hurry man, but stay low! Get your spear back from that man while you are at it, if you can."

Awesome tenna. I agree, ill go in back, but i dont think we should leave the mine. I dont think that was Jb's "plan" for us. There cant be many more miners, and we did good soo far. Keep moving, and fight our way out. I supose these miners know their territory better than us, so we have to keep on our toes....I say we stay in the mine though, and pick SOme gold up.

Well, first of all, we have already been told that we searched everything. Where did we see gold? Secondly, if you read my post, you can see we are still quite outnumbered just by the people we have seen in the mine, so "not many left" really isn't accurate. There are at least 4 left. Could be more. I am not saying we won't go back in, but I think we need to get out of the mine to safety to rethink our approach. Maybe go back to the village and get more weapons and/or ammunition.

If we aren't leaving the mine, where are we going to go once we leave this room. No point in leaving the room unless we have a plan to go someplace. So, if you don't think we should leave the room, where should we be going? I think we should leave and then go back to the village and look for more ammunition, and maybe more people to join us. But at least more ammunition.

We could change the plan totally and hold an arrow to the head of the wounded guy and try to get him to tell us where the gold is.

Well, based on the latest post by GM, I am posting as I previously outlined. We haven't heard from FarSeer, and I haven't gotten an answer from Sokei about my followup questions. I realize you probably haven't seen them yet, but I don't believe we can wait any longer.
