Name: Nicole

Comments: He is very touchy feely when we're alone but in public its like he's nervous and doesn't want to show any public affection. He says he has a problem doing that in public and its not me but him. Is this a psychological problem or is he just hiding something?

Affection Public No

Not nearly enough information here:

Have you met his family and are they touchy/feely?
Is he touchy feely with others in public?
Have you met his friends?
What kind of person is he...serious or fun-loving risk taker?
Does any mean holding hands is out too?

Many people just arent touchy feely types or werent brought up that way. Nothing wrong with it and he will loosen up a little over time but probably not to the level it sounds that you would prefer.

The only other thing I can think of is that he doesnt want anyone to find out you two are an item. However, you will have other suspicions of this being the case...like not meeting his friends and family and only referring to you as a friend and not a girlfriend to others.

No Public Affection Health & Special Psychology

Many people are just shy and they don't like to display affection in public. I don't see the problem really as long as the person is affectionate in private.
