Comments: Does the law permit a landlord to sell his property at anytime even though he has paying tenants with leases that haven't expired yet?
It depends on your local laws but as far as I'm concerned he's supposed to give you notice, he just can't expect you to move out without having giving you the proper notice.

The way I see it... Its his home, he can sell it whenever he wants to. Now if by him selling it you were put in a jam you might be able to sue for the inconvenience if you had a contract, but still you can't stop him from selling his house.

The landlord can sell the property at any time as it is their property. However, I think your question is more around the rights of the existing tennants. Much of that depends on the state you live in and what type of lease you have (month to month or a long term lease). In general, the shortest time you could be notified of a termination is 30 days (month to month lease in many states). If you have a longterm lease, many states require the new owners to honor the old lease.
