I did not know marking the email as spam sends a complaint to the sender, or to the email provider. I wanted to delete them, and it is true I did not want them appearing in my inbox because I do receive lots of other email daily across multiple accounts. It was not an attack on the board; I tried to set it that way in my email for personal convenience. I had no idea that my personal email settings affects the board.
I will gladly check in on the board for new messages instead of having emails sent to me.
The first time my account was deleted, it was because I had unsubscribed from the newsletter, to my understanding. I had not marked it as spam. I did not know that would result in the deletion of my account, and missed that part of the policy. All I had read was,
"We may send you newsletters about updates to this forum."
I did not know that meant it was mandatory communication that could not be opted out from, or I missed an extended policy statement where it does state it is mandatory communication.
As for causing you the trouble with marking you as spam in my second account, for that I apologize. I did not know it would affect you. I did not intend for it to be an attack on the board, and it turned out to be. The newsletter is not too much for me, but it was an inconvenience that I sought to circumvent. As a personal preference, I wanted to leave everything on this board behind when I navigate to another page. I did not want emails or anything talking about this board when I am not on it.
I sincerely thank you for having put up with all this, and I am impressed with your quick replies to my emails, and to this post. I know this is your board, and your rules. I do not mean to argue, I just wanted to clarify where I misunderstood the rules. Thanks for your time.
Hi Aliron! I think what JB is referring to is this on the registration page (you have to be logged out to see it):
Yep, I did miss that line. I guess I just paid attention to the other lines and the constructive posting policy. Up to this point, I had not encountered a forum where members had to accept those sorts of communications, and again, I apologize for any trouble I caused and any assumptions I made.
