Students sell animals at fair's livestock auction
"Watch out, pig coming through!" 9-year-old Madison Causey yelled at the top of her lungs Saturday as her Hampshire pig stomped toward a pen in the swine-filled barn. Madison had just sold her 299-pound pig for $897, or $3 per pound, at the annual Junior Livestock Auction at the San Diego County Fair. Madison, who is entering fourth grade at Fallbrook's Live Oak Elementary, grew the pig from 70 pounds three months ago to make it market ready in time for the sale. Ref. Source 8
