Do Christian Militants still exist in the Middle East or have they died out completely?

At a hearing on Muslim radicalism, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee decided to change the topic to the oh-so prevalent menace to society, Christian militants. Yes, Lee actually compared radical Islam to radical Christianity. Are there a few nuts? Sure. But it seems to be a tad of a stretch to compare that to the massive terrorist movement plaguing the globe. There used to be a significant number of Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and Maronite Christians, in places like Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Palestine but with the rise of Islamic radicalism there has been a great exodus of these people out of the middle east and into the west, particularly the United States. The National Geographic even wrote an article about it and made it their cover story, entitled "The Christians Exodus out the of Holy Land".
I live in Indianapolis, Indiana and I have met a number of Middle Eastern Christians. There's even a Coptic Cathedral here.
