There appears to be no way back for Argentine football star Carlos Tevez in the wake of the collapse of the deal between Manchester City and Brazil's Corinthians.

I am watching TN which a is a news channel from Argentina. Carlos Tevez's father has been kidnapped. Carlos left his club with permission and is on his way to Buenos Aires. The kidnappers already asked for millions of dollars. Not sure if they knew who is the man, the problem is that the father was driving one of those celebrity sort of SUV which is unusual to see in the streets of Buenos Aires, specially in Moron which is not a high-class area.
Update: He has been released. I am assuming the kidnappers did not know who they were kidnapping and when they realized who he was, they let him go.
Because the police force would move in a different way than if it was an average Argentinian. It would be consider a high profile kidnapping and the media would be in their toes to ensure those responsible are held. Hence, they released him without getting any money.
