For me personally I do not think that acting ability nor s-xual desirability is limited to the wafer thin models that have been pushed for too long.

If a person is a talented actor/actress then vote for them! After all it is about presence and charisma on stage, yes I do think that includes s-xual desirability because is part of how we view many things in the world. I just do not think too skinny looks nice.

Walking down the street in the last year I do not think the younger crowd is buying into it as much either as many have a "muffin Top" sticking out above the waistband and a short shirt riding above the proudly displayed bellies. (15 to 25 year olds)

Unfortunately, we live in a society that everything is about looks at least here in North America. It's funny though because where I live most of the people are either overweight or obese so I suppose they like to see skinny people on tv? Weird.

Actually I do not think it is strange for two reasons. First the world today it seems is being influenced strongly by Hollywood. If Hollywood portrays a lady who is not smart and has no muscle or fat on her as a s-xual object sought by the males in the movie each and every time. Also ending the movie with this lady being wed and in a happy healthy relationship young girls and many older ones will take this as a truth and desire to be like her. Same goes for the men being brain washed into thinking that this is what ladies should look and act like. Of course living and observing in the real world will help balance out this effect. Unfortunately many live on line and are not very balanced in their life leaving them more susceptible to this effect.

I am not shocked many people are over weight just look at what many eat daily and consider it healthy. We eat way to much processed foods which have little real food value but many calories. Also many are not active after work but sit in front of games or text each other by the second. I also blame lower quality of foods we do buy due to being picked before ripe and then shipped thousands of mile before consumption. I think all these factors com into play in many being overweight.

So we have TV land telling us what we eat is healthy but it is making us fat. The same time Hollywood is pumping reasonably skinny is sexy. So you end up with people looking at stars wishing they could look like that but have no real energy to peruse the idea and no real desire to change them selves to be healthier. I guess it is true we are creatures of habit and dislike change in general.
