A 22-year-old security guard was shot in the face during an attempted robbery at an Atlantic construction site at Point Fortin on Friday night.

Ryan Baptiste, of Boodoo Street, Point Fortin is in stable condition at hospital after he sustained a gunshot wound to the jaw.

Police reports stated that Baptiste, who is employed with Caribbean Safety Products Ltd, was on duty at the construction site of the Atlantic liquefied natural gas facility when around 7 p.m. A masked gunman approached him and announced a hold-up.
