Pot penalties reduced in California
Starting in January, getting caught with an ounce or less of marijuana in California will be an infraction on par with jaywalking and littering - and not a misdemeanor that can tie up juries and show up on criminal background checks for job applicants. Ref. Source 4
It is not going to be long before it is legal in Ontario I think. Already police really say little to one smoking a joint and with 2 others in your pocket. Even growing 2 or 3 plants is not a big deal. Though 6 or more and your in jail because you likely are now selling to others.
Backing Prop 19, California NAACP Calls Marijuana Legalization a Civil Rights Issue
California's Proposition 19 would authorize possession of one ounce of marijuana for personal consumption by people twenty-one and older, legalize marijuana use in private homes, and allow marijuana growth in private residences for personal use. The people want freedom of choice and I offer you a better way! Just [write] the name in when you vote and join the party but their people in power that don't want our people free. Put them in jail for using these drugs for having these drugs. Then they can do want they want to these people who have them. Its slavery in the USA.
